Subsequent revelations about Wayne Rooney’s private life has put a bit of a dampener on England’s 4-0 demolition of Bulgaria and Fabio Capello’s team will have to concentrate on the job in hand when they face Switzerland at the St Jakob-Park in Basel.
Rooney was instrumental in England’s victory at Wembley but may not get the same amount of freedom against the defensively-minded Swiss, who shocked Spain in the World Cup before falling away.
