Alastair Cook insists his England Cricket team will not be complacent and they will be going out to win the fourth Test against India in Nagpur after taking a 2-1 lead in the series.

Cricket - Confident Cook targets Nagpur victoryAlastair Cook’s side cannot now lose the series.

The tourists sealed a seven-wicket victory on the final morning of the third Test in Kolkata after a few early alarms when they slipped to 8-3 in their chase for 41.

James Anderson bowled last man Pragyan Ojha with the tenth ball of the day, as India were dismissed for 247.

England lost Cook, who scored a brilliant 190 in the first innings and deservedly won the man-of-the-match award, Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen, before Ian Bell steadied the nerves and hit the winning runs as England moved ahead in the series despite being beaten in the first Test.

England are 8/13 to win next summer’s Ashes series while Australia can be backed at 11/4 and a drawn series is available at 9/2 .

“It was a great performance level for four-and-a-half days,” Cook said. “Everyone performed from one to 11 and that’s what you need in these conditions. Our bowlers, on the first day, to keep India to 300 on that wicket was a fantastic effort.

“And after the start they got to get six wickets in that session yesterday really won us the game. It was a credit to the hard work they’ve put in that they can perform in these conditions.”
