Injury scare for Van Persie
Manchester United are facing an attacking crisis with both Robin van Persie and Shinji Kagawa set to sit out their weekend game with Wigan Athletic.
And with Wayne Rooney still sidelined, it means a huge headache for boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who will refuse to take any chances with his new summer recruits.
United are 12/1 to thrash the Latics 4-0 on Saturday while Wigan can be backed at 10/1 to grab a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Don’t forget all Premier League matches are covered by the bet365 100% Euro Soccer Bonus, where you could earn a bonus of up to 100% on your returns on pre-match accumulator bets.
United are concerned by the reports that Kagawa complained of back twinges which ruled him out of Japan’s World Cup qualifier against Iraq this week and van Persie was taken off at half time with a thigh injury in Holland’s 4-1 win over Hungary.
Sir Alex is already cursing an injury list which saw defender Phil Jones ruled out for the next two months after a knee tear in training last week.
United are fearful of causing any further damage to Kagawa and van Persie and Javier Hernandez has been put on stand-by to partner Danny Welbeck.
Hernandez is 4/1 to open the scoring against Wigan while Welbeck can be backed at 9/2.
