Mancini pens lengthy new deal

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has signed a new five-year contract with the Premier League champions.

The Italian guided City to their first top-flight title since 1968 in May when his side held off the challenge of Manchester United.

However, they needed two stoppage-time goals in the final game of the season against QPR to seal the three points needed to finish at the head of the table.

I am delighted to be able to give all of my efforts to Manchester City for a further five years.
