Champions League favourites Barcelona and Real Madrid have avoided each other in the quarter-final draw and the Spanish giants are now 2/1 to lock horns in the final at Wembley.

bet365 spokesman Steve Freeth said: “Both sides have been cut slightly on the back of the draw and a meeting at Wembley between the two Spanish giants now looks a real possibility.”

Barcelona must beat Paris St Germain in the last eight of the Champions League if they are to have a chance of winning the trophy for a third time in five seasons.

The runaway La Liga leaders produced a dramatic comeback to knock AC Milan out earlier this week, winning the second leg 4-0 after being beaten 2-0 at the San Siro.

Barcelona have won the competition on four occasions and can be backed at 6/4 to make it five this season while PSG, conquerors of Valencia in the round of 16, have never reached the final of European football’s premier competition before.

Last season’s beaten finalists Bayern Munich, 9/2 to go one better this season, have been handed a mouthwatering last-eight encounter with Juventus.

The Serie A leaders had little difficulty thrashing Celtic in the last round and are 14/1 to win the Champions League for the first time since 1996 and for the third time in their history.

Surprise package Malaga face a Borussia Dortmund side that has been impressive in seeing off the likes of Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City this season.

Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid team will be confident of reaching the semi-finals after being paired with Turkish side Galatasaray.

Real edged past Manchester United in the round of 16 and are available at 9/4 to win the competition for a record tenth time. However, they have not clinched the Champions League since 2002.

For the first time since 1996 there are no representatives from the Premier League in the last eight.

Chelsea handed Benfica testFrank Lampard scored in Wednesday’s dramatic victory against Napoli.

Chelsea have avoided Real Madrid and Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League after being paired with Benfica.

However, the Blues, who beat Napoli 5-4 on aggregate to reach this stage of the competition, could face Barca or AC Milan in the semi-finals, if they knock Benfica out.

The Portuguese side progressed from the group stage of the competition before Christmas, alongside FC Basel, at Manchester United’s expense.

They then knocked Zenit St Petersburg out at the last-16 stage and are currently second in the Portuguese League, one point behind leaders FC Porto.

However, the winners of the tie will play either AC Milan or holders Barcelona in the semi-finals. The Rossoneri have won the competition seven times – only Real Madrid have been more successful – with their last success coming five years ago.

Milan were superb when beating Arsenal 4-0 in the first leg of their last-16 clash, but only just edged into the quarter-finals after slumping to a 3-0 defeat in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium.

Barcelona have won Europe’s premier competition four times in their history with three of those successes coming since 2006.

Real Madrid will be confident of beating the Cypriot side APOEL as Jose Mourinho attempts to win the Champions League with a third club, following his successes with FC Porto and Inter Milan.

Barcelona finally seal Fabregas deal

Cesc Fabregas has finally completed his move from Arsenal to Barcelona after penning a five-year contract with the Catalan giants.

Cesc Fabregas made it known that he wanted to return to Barcelona.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, whose side are now 11/1 to win the Premier League title this season, reluctantly confirmed the news.

“We understand Cesc’s desire to move to his home-town club and have now accepted an offer from Barcelona,” said the Frenchman.

“We have been clear that we didn’t want Cesc to leave and that remains the case. We thank Cesc for his contribution at Arsenal and wish him future success.”

The news brings an end to the protracted transfer, with Fabregas having been linked with a move to the Nou Camp since last summer. The 24-year-old moves for an initial transfer fee of £30million, with a further £5million dependent on the number of games he plays and the trophies Barca win.

Barcelona, who are 8/15 to win La Liga in 2011/12 and 15/8 to retain the Champions League trophy, have also confirmed that the buy-out clause on Fabregas’ contract is 200 million euro
