Man Utd are still 12-points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, despite losing to their fierce rivals at the start of the week.

Man Utd next face a difficult assignment this Sunday when they travel to Stoke City, who are now scrapping for their lives against relegation.

And with further away games against the likes of West Ham and Arsenal, and a visit of Chelsea still to come, there are still nagging doubts the Red Devils are home and dry.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s team tossed away an eight-point advantage with six games remaining last term to allow City to become kings of England.

But Vidic is adamant the crown must return to the red side of the city.

The Serbian defender insists: “We’re in a good position, but we still have a lot of tough games to play.

“You have to say, though, that we shouldn’t lose the league from this position. We don’t want to let ourselves or our fans down.

“We’re still looking strong and, at the moment, we’re on course to win the title. That’s been our main aim since the final day of last season, that’s our main focus.”

Manchester United are 1/500 to win the league crown this season, while Manchester City can be backed at 33/1 to successfully defend their crown.
